RARITY OF FLUORESCENT DIAMONDS

Fluorescent diamonds shine brighter than the rest in direct sunlight. It comes from the presence of trace elements naturally contained within a diamond during the carbon crystallization process. These trace elements make each fluorescent diamond truly one of a kind. Because fluorescence only occurs in natural diamonds, it’s also a reliable indicator of a gem’s authenticity. The 4Cs (Color, Clarity, Cut and Carat Weight) are the grading factors utilized by gemological laboratories to assess the value of every stone.
Fluorescence however, has its own category: intensity. The higher the intensity, the stronger the diamond’s natural glow.

fluorescence Intensity Grade
Rarity of Fluorescent Diamonds submitted to AGS Laboratories:
● 94.5% have “Negligible” fluorescence
● 3.6% have “Medium” fluorescence
● 1.5% have “Strong” fluorescence
● 0.34% have “Very Strong” fluorescence
